To begin your Integrated Body Makeover we will study and discuss your medical history to help determine your current state of functional health. Next we will perform the Designer Bodies Integrated Structural Analyses... a head to toe kinetic chain assessment used to asses how well your muscles, nerves and skeletal system work together to perform functional movement patterns. This testing is imperative for detecting postural / structural modalities and or tracking issues caused by muscle imbalances (weak muscles vs. tight muscles... tight muscles vs. weak muscles). The objective data gathered from our analysis allows us to take an educated approach when designing individualized corrective exercise programs. We have individualized assessments for everyone from beginners to professional athletes that will meet specific needs and may even prevent potential injuries before they occur.

Weighing in and taking full body measurements comes next. These assessments are taken along with photos to help define goals and to keep records for future reference. We take these three assessments into account along with energy levels, functional strength, functional flexibility, heart rate variations during exercise and overall wellbeing just to name a few of the variables that we use to help determine progress. To rely solely on bodyweight is an inaccurate way of measuring progress because if you gained 10 pounds of muscle and lost 10 pounds of body fat the numbers on the scale would be a wash but you would look and feel much better.

Your Personal Nutrition Management starts with a 2-3 hour session to create a nutrition plan specifically for you and to educate you on your individual nutritional needs. We will start by compiling your own personal grocery list consisting only of the foods that you like! You will learn how to precisely structure meals that will supply your body with the proper ratios and portions of lean proteins , complex carbs , fibrous carbs and dietary fats needed to supply your body with the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, omega fatty acids and amino acids needed to attain and retain a healthy body, mind and metabolism for years to come. You will learn how to eat to prepare for and repair from your workouts while integrating this nutritional approach to benefit you in every other aspect of your life. You will also receive the Designer Bodies Cookbook and Restaurant Guide as well as our personal guidance for preparing delicious nutritious meals, drinks, and condiments that will satisfy your belly and please your pallet! Our restaurant guide is provided to assure you a successful dining experience when going out on the town. You will even learn when and how to chow down to stimulate the production of lepton for increased thermogenisis (the process of food being converted to heat)! That's correct, you will be treated to an educated cheat time that will boost thermogenisis (fat burning) for up to 72 hours after you go back to eating clean. Your cheat time is also a great way to REWARD yourself for your hard work! My wife and I live by our system and know how important it is to enjoy the foods we eat. Your nutrition program will be monitored on a regular basis and adjusted as needed in order for you to achieve maximum results!

Your current level of fitness is what determines your workout intensity. You will be educated, regulated and challenged within your own limitations! Training beyond your current level of fitness can lead to over training, mental fatigue and even excessive soreness (tissue damage) that will ultimately lead to an inability to achieve your goals. You will learn when and how to increase workout intensity for the best results!

In the gym you'll learn the proper approach to warming up your body without tapping into the fuel that your body needs to get you through your workouts. Next I'll teach you how to contract your muscles against resistance (Barbells, Dumbbells, Cable-Machines, Resistabands, etc.) through a path of motion that isolates your muscles and a range of motion that eliminates unnecessary stress on your joints and connective tissue. The mechanics for each exercise is determined by your own unique body structure. Everyone's body structure is different, therefore exercise form will vary from individual to individual. My expertise in biomechanics will make your experience in the gym more productive than you ever imagined!

Beginners or individuals with limited exercise experience will learn to perform weight bearing exercises using perfect technique while performing low to moderate intensity cardiorespiratory in an effort to increase blood flow, circulation, and natural hormonal responses that'll lead to an increase in muscle and tendon strength, elevated metabolism and increased body fat loss, as well as increased flexibility, balance and overall conditioning. As your body adapts to this type of training the intensity will be increased accordingly. If you belong to a special population (i.e. senior-adult, adolescent, postpartum, post-rehab, post-surgical, etc) then increases in exercise intensity may not be necessary for optimum results.

Experienced athletes and fitness enthusiasts will start at a higher intensity level than that of a beginner or someone with special needs and in most cases will advance at a faster pace. You will be schooled in sports specific training methods and advanced biomechanics. Once you have mastered these new techniques you will be amazed at how fast your body will respond. There are many different ways to manipulate the intensity of your workouts. I.e. slowing down the tempo of your repetitions while focusing on contracting the targeted muscles harder when lifting and making a conscious effort to resist the weight while lowering the weight slowly to the starting position. Another approach is to focus on compound exercises and employing a more explosive approach when performing reps in an effort to generate more power. Other ways of manipulating exercise intensity is to increase the number of repetitions and or by increasing resistance and or applying super-sets, tri-sets or giant-sets. The Designer Bodies Metabolic Core Training Circuits take a multi-dimensional approach to training the body through all planes of motion and can be combined with either Cardiorespiratory Performance X-Training, Cardio Sprints or Interval Training for maximum fat burning. These are just a few examples of the many ways we will make your workouts exciting and educational!
